Meet Dr. Ali Mason

Dr. Mason brings 14 years of experience in small animal veterinary medicine to the Clover Bay Animal Hospital team. She spent eight years practicing in New York City, including nearly a decade in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, and has most recently practiced in Commack. Throughout her career, she has combined hands-on clinical practice with hospital leadership, medical operations, and mentorship of veterinary teams.

Dr. Mason enjoys all aspects of general practice, with particular interests in dermatology, complex medical cases, and senior and geriatric care. She is especially passionate about helping older pets remain comfortable and active while providing thoughtful, individualized care focused on maintaining their best possible quality of life.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Mason has held leadership and medical operations roles with Thrive Pet Healthcare. She served on a Medical Excellence Committee, oversaw controlled-substance management and compliance, and coached and mentored newer veterinarians. These experiences have strengthened her commitment to high-quality medicine, continued professional development, and creating collaborative, supportive veterinary teams.

Dr. Mason earned her veterinary degree from the Atlantic Veterinary College on Prince Edward Island and completed a small animal rotating internship at Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists in Manhattan, now BluePearl Pet Hospital. Following her internship, she went directly into general practice in Brooklyn, where she went on to help lead hospital teams.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Mason enjoys spending time with her husband, their two sons, and their pup. The family lives in Port Washington, and when they are not in town, she loves escaping to the Catskill Mountains to hike, ski, and enjoy the outdoors.
